baby doll

We have been watching Jovie play with her "babies" lately. Seriously, cute. Watching your baby start to pretend is fascinating! I have taken these pics over the last few days trying to capture the fun.

First, I will introduce you.

This is Mari, short for Mariposa.
This was Jovial's first dolly which my mom found at Kmart.
(Kmart, by the way has such better toys than Target.)
Jovie wanted to share breakfast with her this morning, which is why
I always buy toys that can go into the washing machine.

Mimi (Heath's grandma) got this doll for Jov for Christmas.
We call him baby boy. Jovie found this basket and decided to use
it as a moses basket for him.

I made these dolls for Jovial's birthday. The one on top is
"Grandma doll". I made it to look like my mom with earrings and everything.
At first I kind of felt like a wierdo but Jov loves her grandma and loves her grandma doll. The one on bottom is "Jovie girl". I gave her bright blue eyes and hair wings just like my girl.

She has been walking with me to the mailbox pushing her stroller. It turns the 2 minute walk into about 20 minutes of fun.

"Jovie girl" also gardens with us.

She doesn't complain when Jovie tries to eat the barrette out of her hair.

She makes long car rides much more fun.

Jovie likes to give her a paci.

Heath and I don't mind when they share the same sippy.

For all of you crafters who want to make these dolls, here is the link:

Honestly, not hard if you are at all familiar with your sewing machine.
There is even a video on this page with a great step by step.
