tea parties and basket rides

Life just keeps getting better. We are constantly being amazed by our kids... so sweet, so funny, so smart, so strong. Yes, I mean strong-willed...the girl anyway.

Jovie's first time in hot rollers.

I am starting a journal with Jovie and I am pretty sure it is one of our favorite parts of the day.

I got her "special journal crayons" and "special journal paper". I ask her a question and try to write down everything that she says. I only wish there was some way that I could record the inflection of everything she says because it is hilarious.

This day I asked, "What did we do today?" Of course I don't ever ask just one question. I try not to put words in her mouth but asking a 2 year old what they did at the end of the day is crazy. It goes more like this, "What did you do in the morning? Where did we go after snack? Who did you see today?"

Today I asked, "Who are your best friends and what do you play with them?"

"What do you like to do with daddy?" She is serious. Everyday Heath comes home and grabs whatever snack he can quickly get his hands on, usually some dove chocolate and a cup full of goldfish crackers.

The Hamster hanging out while we journal.

Jovial had a tea party in her room. She went from serving her guests to taking their food.

A tea party with brother.

Jov is really into being "fancy" lately. i.e She wants to wear my pearl necklace, she puts her hula skirt on over whatever she is wearing (because THAT is fancy), she wants every meal to have candle light. Anyway, one night she said she wanted to "be fancy for sleep" "I wear dress for night-night mama?" So, I quickly sewed this night gown out of some leftover knit fabric. I REALLY like this little fancy phase she's going through!

It's pretty hilarious that when Jovie is playing and Beckham is sitting in his bouncer she really likes for him to have a toy too. And when I say "a toy" I really mean she piles toys on top of him until I notice and his eyes start bugging out of his head.

This is the "I am ushering myself to sleep" posture. Two fingers from his left hand in his mouth and right hand resting on his left arm.

Told you.

Jovie helped daddy in the shop one night. She goes back and forth from thinking the shop is cool to being terrified that daddy is going to turn on the machines and make loud noises.

This is Samuel Avila, one of Beckham's buddies.

We're working on Jovie's potty-training. Some days she is into it and some days not at all.

Rides in the laundry basket;)

When I first read the title, I thought perhaps Jovie was getting political.
