Alaniz garden

I love my dad. I know that a lot of my whimsy comes from him. He is the most eccentric person I know and I am beginning to see that we are more alike than I thought. Anyway, now that I am no longer employed we get to hang out every Tuesday. We have breakfast, watch the news together and sometimes we work in my yard together. He loves to do anything outside. So, this year he wanted to plant a vegetable garden in his front yard (only on the north side) and I thought it was a great idea. He wanted Jovial and I to come and help him because he said he remembers planting veggies with his dad. Love it. Here we are planting our corn, squash, cantaloupe, peas, green beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers and herbs together.

My dad takes Jovial for a ride in the wheelbarrow.

Jovie has her own mini rake

Jov takes a break to watch us work and sprinkle my dad's
lawn with oyster crackers.

Here it is...ta-da!

so cool... we've sown about half of our garden... can wait to see your dad's garden and ours when everything's producing!

My dad has a garden too and he and Judah get to plant it together. Judah loves it, he's quite the little farmer. I'm sure Jovie will be planting her own little seeds soon.

Awesome! I just found the Sunset Blog on summer gardens and backyard chickens. I am dying to have our backyard fixed up! And aren't we technically on the "North Side" as well? I say we bring some "North Side" ideas a little to the west.
